Araks Yeramyan may be well known for her lingerie, but this beautiful ready to wear presentation was a heavily edited exercise in Russian Constructivism.

She discussed her collection with us in depth, saying “I wanted to feature the hard edge of the period with its links to Post War and hard times,”  and “dark tones and a blend of my signature organic cotton looks with my own touches are a big part of the collection.”

The looks ranged from the outwardly elegant to the harsh hard beauty in form of steel and other metals. Deep blues and ocher tones flowed throughout the collection, and a hard, blood red lip heavily accented the saturated collection.

Geometry came in to play as well, hard cuts with arm openings, and pocketed dresses. Though at first glance Araks’ collection may seem to austere or dark for some, with creative personal styling applied, one could create a striking unique look with the provided elements. Leather pants and fur also accented the line beautifully, and would make amazing separates.
