This new season at Odilon<\/a> is a fair departure from fall. Taking off from dark colors and draping coats lands fresh whites and strips of sunny yellow. Suitable given Canadian designer Stacey Clark’s, \u201cfinally embracing living in the L.A. sunshine.\u201d Also bathed in grassy green and deep sea blues, Odilon\u2019s Spring 2012 collection was inspired by 90\u2019s Venice Beach, skate shirts (Ms. Clark has a white skateboard herself, which was waiting backstage), and the musical likes of Courtney Love, Kim Gordon, Kurt Cobain and Pavement.<\/p>\n

Assistant designer Harold Kuhn added that they also grabbed inspiration from, \u201cwanting to take things that were here during our teenage years.\u201d This aesthetic, along with other muses Francois Hardy and a \u201cskate ballet\u201d performance, birthed a lax but lady-like line both structured and slack, with super-soft silk suits, or outfits rather, made up of hanging but hugging tops and loose wide-legged flowing pants sporting both multi- and same-colored auto and engineer stripes.<\/p>\n

Also hanging around was a long willowy canary colored dress, shorter more tapered ones in various shapes and materials, some splashed with swatches of color or design, and a green stretchy wetsuit top appearing number. Accented with custom shiny silver jewels made from molds of real shark teeth, the tide has turned from the 90\u2019s, and this line is refined but still… radical.<\/p>\n
