Designer Kaelen Haworth’s work seems to embody the term “crisp organic,” yet with this Spring 2013 collection she was pushing the envelope on juxtaposing rougher organic materials with obvious synthetics, as neoprene contrasted in close orbit with silk and jersey throughout most of the collection.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The black box space at the Lincoln Center tents was arrayed with girls in takes on black and white, standing on low white platforms, as guests wandered through for the hour-long show.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The only color making an appearance was a yellow-green, or perhaps greenish-yellow, which was seen in only a few of the 18 looks in the room, and was subtle enough not to stand out too much beside the fully-desaturated looks, which were already balanced out in the room by frequent use of a mottled camouflage print, designed by Eva Zuckerman.<\/p>\n

A strong show from an already strong rising star designer, who season after season finds something new to say about patterns in the world around us.<\/p>\n
