Unrath & Strano<\/a> is internationally renowned for their tailor-made evening gowns with exceptional cuts. The lobby of the Hotel Ellington was transformed into the epitome of luxury for the designer duo Klaus Unrath and Ivan Strano to present their first high-end bridal collection on the second day of Berlin Fashion Week.<\/p>\n

The collection remained in classic ground for its color pallete, with soft creme tones and a gentle shift with the last dresses into light gold and ecru nuances. But, a classical bridal show, it was not. A much more interesting and contemporary interpretation of bridalwear passed down the runway.<\/p>\n

Here we saw dresses with a meticulous attention to detail, which will surely satisfy the demands of even the most exigent customer, looking for not only exclusive cuts and fabrics, but also unique impeccable finishing. Besides the wonderful bustier gowns, and the dresses with Swarovski crystal applications, some garments utilizing leather were quite interesting. Already known for nailing it with their materials in previous non-bridal collections, these men again proved their remarkable skill and creativity.<\/p>\n

“The number of church-free weddings has risen steadily in recent years, and along with it, the demand for unusual wedding dresses,” explained Klaus Unrath. “We want to create young, eccentric designs which break away from traditional bridalwear.”<\/p>\n

And indeed, the collection bore a couple of overtly sexy non-virginal pieces. The more slinky dresses defined sexy silhouettes while still displaying an abundance of traditional bridal silk and fine lace.<\/p>\n

All looks kept in the unmistakable Unrath & Strano style, with its figure-accentuating cuts and luxurious extravagance. The various versions of low-cut open-back dresses were an exemplary display of perfectly applying the delicate balance required between sexy and elegance in a great wedding dress.<\/p>\n

These skilled tailors, who seem to know innately how to drape, twist, and fit the materials to perfection, met at the Couture department at Vivienne Westwood, before they founded their own line in Berlin in 2002.<\/p>\n
