Bensoni designers Benjamin Channing and Sonia Yoon delivered a unique collision of patterns and colors in their Fall 2010 collection. The collection consists of near-perfect ensembles for a life of country playfulness. The line embodies sophisticated garments with exceptional details and use of bold colors. These professional outfits are mixed with some of the latest fashion trends including, fur, ruffles, plaid, leather, and glittery materials. The collection gives the office look a new and updated appeal through incorporating sexy cocktail dresses and edgy glittery accents, all of which can be worn from day to night. The designers heavily emphasize the use of outerwear, professional skirts, and cocktail dresses.
Pieces ranged from a playful white dress with pleated organza ruffles to a more evening look consisting of a sequin black micro, fox faux leather dresses, and asymmetrical suede ruffle dress. High-waisted trousers, tweed robe coats, a floor-length emerald jewel taffeta shift dress, a camel fleeted wool princess coat, a digital printed fur sheath dress with piping, and check plaid jacket paired with cotton faille tight pants were just a few of the many pieces shown on the runway. It was a flawless presentation of various textures, unique shapes, movement, and diversification of styles.
The presence of ruffles juxtaposed with asymmetrical cuts lent itself to the level of edginess existing within this collection.
This sophisticated and classy line is complimentary to an independent style of progressive businesswomen. Through a theme of brilliant colors and shades—forest green, lemon yellow, safety orange, fuchsia, imperial purple, electric blue, lime green, and black—this line successfully suggest a unique personality and strong attitude for women to co-opt. Channing and Yoon successfully brought sophisticated and classy business attire to a new level: a more fashion savvy and carefree approach they call Bensoni.
