Diego Binetti Serves The Deep

Diego Binetti never met a flowing fabric he didn’t love. Romantic, free, and deeply beautiful gowns are what he does best. As he has told me many times, his women are goddesses, and that spirit shows through in this Spring 2013 collection. Awash in bright colors and luxurious silks, the models well represented the designer’s ocean deity theme.

Diego Binetti – Spring 2012 Review – Fantasy Plays

Walking through the doors to Diego Binetti’s Spring 2012 presentation was like walking into a fantasy world. Models dressed in flowing chiffons were on swings suspended from the ceiling and sitting on benches throughout the already unusual Provocateur space at Hotel Gansevoort.

Diego Binetti Never Fears Fantasy

There is a long and splendid line of designers who create romantic and imaginative designs that spring from an idealized woman in their head.Very often this mythical muse has had a grip on their minds for a long time. When that designer is successful it is almost solely due to the fact that the woman in their head is whom the women of their time aspire to be.

Very often this mythical muse has had a grip on their minds for a long time. When that designer is successful it is almost solely due to the fact that the woman in their head is whom the women of their time aspire to be.

Diego Binetti is precisely that type of designer and his shows at New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week are always a sumptuous and stylish feast for the senses.

Binetti Collection – Fall 2011

The Fall 2011 collection was beautiful, splendid, fantastical, and flowing, but also, oh, so easy to wear.

Fantasy matters in fashion. Many times you will hear the comment, “nobody would wear that,” but fantastical creations play a critical role in fashion in a wide manner of ways. When viewing the goddesses who fell to earth at a Diego Binetti presentation, it’s important to stay conscious of the fact that the full-on heavy styling is Mr. Binetti’s vision in its purest form. All of the amazing Perez Sanz jewelery and magical Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are part of his taking advantage of the moment to present a suggestion of perfection. But at the core of his theater is his garments, and the Fall 2011 collection was beautiful, splendid, and flowing, but also, oh, so easy to wear. Continue reading “Binetti Collection – Fall 2011”

Binetti – Spring 2011 – New York

A designer often has specific feelings or ideas in mind while designing, and the garment can act as a communicator. Viewing the Spring 2011 collection of Diego Binetti it is crystal clear that he wants his clients to feel warm, special, bold, strong, beautiful, and perhaps even loved?

Quick, how did you feel when you put on your clothes this morning? Did you choose your outfit based on your mood? Did you reflect on how your mood might change based on what you chose? The subject of feelings and fashion are not often discussed together and it points out a hole in our thinking about clothing. Design evokes feeling. A designer often has specific feelings or ideas in mind while designing, and the garment can act as a communicator. Viewing the Spring 2011 collection of Diego Binetti it is crystal clear that he wants his clients to feel warm, special, bold, strong, beautiful, and perhaps even loved?
