For his Fall 2010 collection, presented recently in New York City, Australian designer Toni Maticevski seemed to favor shiny fabrics and embellishments.  His collection was over the top, with gowns of silk tulle and organza in dove gray and multi-layered polka-dot evening dresses in silk chiffon.  Interesting attempts to separate, layer, and decorate the body were made. Mongrels in Common – Fall 2010 – Berlin

The design team behind Mongrels in Common, Livia Ximenez-Carillo and Christine Pluess, created a bold and determinedly cohesive Fall 2010 collection for Berlin Fashion Week. The duo concentrated on particular shapes, which were presented on both hard and soft-looking fabrics, in a diminished palette of mint green, grey, black and salmon pink.

Lorick – Fall 2010 – New York

Designer Abigail Lorick created a youthful collection for Fall 2010. It was absolutely full of headbands, feathers, chic jewelry, and glittery tights.  Her quoted inspiration for this season was “angels and cocoons.” Each lively ensemble was fully accessorized was statement necklaces, large earrings, antique-styled brooches, sparkles, sheers, and elaborate brocades. Her inspiration for this season: the ‘80s meets Cousin Itt (The Addams Family). This collection can officially be dubbed Rock-n-Roll chic, especially with the fitted leather cocktail dresses with deep v-backs and the Cousin Itt-like fur jackets and trims.
