Les Hommes, Fall 2010 Collection at Milan Moda Uomo

The expert tailoring and fit is still there, it is still luxury clothing, but this show felt like a rehash of what they’re already selling.

With few exceptions, what we’re seeing in Milan and Berlin so far this season looks safe, and Les Hommes designers Tom Notte and Bart Vandebosch, despite being wild enough to have full gold chrome suits on the runway, seem to be playing it safe.

If you look at our backstage video from the Fall 2010 show, you can definitely see a lot of the same parts, pieces, and patterns, and nothing in the new show jumped out as being particularly innovative. The expert tailoring and fit is still there, it is still luxury clothing, but this show felt like a rehash of what they’re already selling. The asymmetrical zippers, although new for these guys, have been on a lot of runways lately. The key difference between this season and the previous fall collection may be that many of these new looks seem a little more practical.
