Nicholas K has a strong brand signature. Their love of both layering and strategic deconstruction creates a sense that wearers are free and nomadic adventurers who are in our world, but not one hudred percent of it.
This season there was an added feel of refinement, a touch of elegance that showed that the veteran pair of Nicholas & Chris Kunz know how to hold fast to what works, and add or subtract just the right elements to allow their designs to continue to grow and develop. Most of the impression of romantic refinement came from fabric choices, and a touch of less obvious detailing. There was a blending, a smoothing, that really made the collection lovely and memorable.
