Deco – Fashion Cacciatore

This editorial features a mix of past and present presented through custom couture pieces, ready to wear, and some of the stylist’s own creations and pieces from his random jewelry collection. There is a vintage Geoffrey Beene dress, a new Ellen Christine Millinery commissioned hat, the stylist’s studio bodysuit and jewelry, Celestino Couture silk shorts, Custo Barcelona tights, Irregular Choice shoes, a Custo Barcelona dress, Walter Steiger shoes, the stylist’s necklace, a Carlo Carrizosa top with the stylist’s beaded collar underneath, Melissa by Alexandre Herchcovitch shoes, a reddoll by Tatyana Merenyuk dress, a Swarovski ring, a vintage Jackie Rogers dress, a Giles & Brother by Philip Crangi bracelet, a stylist-created silk top, vintage Gianfranco Ferre high slit pants, Badgley Mishka shoes, a stylist-created dress, and an Atelier Swarovski by Zaha Hadid bracelet. Kaviar Gauche “Stripped” Fall 2010 Collection – Berlin

The inspiration for the Kaviar Gauche collection and show was the Berlin avant garde artists of the 1920s, with nods to the uninhibited urges toward amusement expressed by period style icons like Marlene Dietrich.

Running parallel to Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week was the Michalsky StyleNite, which included three of the more avant garde designers’ collections: Michalsky, Lala Berlin, and Kaviar Gauche.

Michalsky – “Saints and Sinners” Fall 2009 Collection

German designer Michael Michalsky chose an unusual location to present his Fall/Winter 2009 collection for Berlin Fashion Week. The Zionskirche is an old church in serious need of renovation, and it perfectly set the stage for “Saints and Sinners.”

The impetus for this particular collection was a reaction by the designer to Pope Benedict XVI’s archaic stand on homosexuality.
