Nary Manivong’s spring-summer 2010 collection was all about bold colors and breezy looks. This Laotian-American designer, who originally showed in New York in the fall of 2005, continues his beautiful interpretations of easy looks and styles for the modern woman, with beautiful silks and a lot of exposed zippers for next season. Buyers and press were greeted for the presentation of the Monique Lhuillier spring-summer 2010 collection inside the famed Christie’s auction house with champagne and decidedly upbeat music. The garments on display were a mix of long and short cocktail dresses, worn by tall models in charming panama hats. The looks were inspired, Lhuillier says, by “the intricate draping of the Masai Warriors.”

Standing in the Audi center, with the Le Mans Audi R15 TDI 100 feet away, Mikhael told me, _when dealing with these hand embroidered details and construction, it is easy to be pretentious but that is not what this is about. It is about having fun with design and challenging oneself so if it is young, poppy, cool, and sexy, then we have succeeded._

It’s Fashion Week! Yes, the semi annual gathering of buyers, press, fashionistas, and other sundry glitteratti, all here in New York City. Today I had the fine pleasure of attending the presentation in Soho, of NoNoo Lyons’ new line of jackets for Spring 2010.
